H.E. Mr. Dhan Prasad Pandit

Ambassador-Designate of Nepal to the State of Israel

H.E. Mr. Dhan Prasad Pandit, assumed his duties as the Ambassador-Designate of Nepal to the State of Israel on December 2, 2024 and presented the copy of his Letter of Credence to the Chief of State Protocol of the State of Israel on December 4, 2024.

H.E. Mr. Pandit, born on May 24, 1959, in Bajhang, Nepal, is a distinguished academic, researcher, and social activist. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Diploma in Sanskrit from Tribhuvan University. Over the course of his career, he has held various key positions, including Visiting Professor at Kathmandu University and Campus Chief at the Campus of International Languages and Padma Kanya Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University.

H.E. Mr. Pandit has made significant contributions to the fields of gender studies and political science, with a particular focus on Nepalese politics, the Maoist insurgency, and gender equality. He has participated in numerous international workshops and conferences in South Korea, the USA, China, Mongolia and several other countries. Additionally, at Tribhuvan University, he has been actively involved in faculty development, conducting seminars in political science, and initiating gender studies and language proficiency programs.

H.E. Mr. Pandit is the author of several books, including Bichar YatraYaatra Kutniti, and Jail ra Jeewan   and has written articles for prominent newspapers. His exceptional contributions to education in Nepal have earned him multiple awards.

Fluent in Nepali, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, and Gujarati, and with basic proficiency in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, Pandit has traveled to over 28 countries. His activism includes advocating for peace, and he was imprisoned for thirteen months in his efforts to restore democracy.

Mr. Pandit has participated in 57th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
