Urgent Notice on the suspension of visa-on-arrival

This is to inform all the concerned that in its latest decision, the Government of Nepal has decided to stop issuing visas on arrival at the Kathmandu Airport with effect from 12 am (midnight) tomorrow (14 March 2020) until 30 April 2020.

However, if someone is travelling on urgent business, visas can be obtained from the Embassy in Tel Aviv(Kaufmann – 2, Textile Center Building, 14th Floor).

Visitors who have got visa already are also required to present recently issued Medical Certificates (Swab Test PCR) to the immigration authorities upon their arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

All the land border ports for the entry into Nepal will be closed with effect from 12 AM (midnight) tomorrow (14 March 2020) until 30 April 2020 (for foreigners from third countries), and we strongly advise everyone travelling to Nepal to use Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu only.

This provision will be applicable to all Non-Resident Nepal Card holders as well.

The Government has also advised all the visitors (foreigners) as well as Nepali citizen and Non-Resident Nepalese, who enter into Nepal from tomorrow midnight to remain in self-isolation and home quarantine respectively for 14 days.

The Embassy requests you all to avoid/postpone travel plans for the time being except for emergency and stay safe from this global pandemic.
